About the symposium

G protein coupled receptors (GPCRs) are the largest family of membrane receptors in humans. They control almost every physiological process and are among the most important targets of approved drugs.
For years, the prevailing view has been that GPCRs located at the plasma membrane transduce signals from the extracellular to the intracellular space. However, evidence collected over the past decade has shown that GPCRs signal from various intracellular compartments to generate distinct cellular and physiological responses. This symposium will cover the recent advances on GPCR signalling using the latest cellular and molecular tools, with a strong focus on GPCR action in their native environment, including the nervous and reproductive systems.
